Linux is the devil, apparently

Just read a post on a genius site. Got to be a marvellous spoof run by someone who is strongly anti-republican. It just seems to full of mistakes and ignorant comments to be anywhere near true.

amusing though.

  • I happen to vote Republican. I also happen to use Ubuntu Linux, and love it. This idiot woman does not represent Republicans in any way, I can assure you.

    I'm pretty sure that if Apple was run by communists, and not by an American company (in fact), Rush Limbaugh wouldn't be constantly talking about how much he loves his Apple OSX system.

    Also, she fails to mention that Red Hat, an American company, is the largest distributor of commercial Linux.

    She didn't even know that her blogger blog is ran on Apache! Also some of the other people that left comments seemed to be almost just as ignorant.

    I'm pretty sure that i will never agree with most liberals politically, and am not afraid to say that. However, to say that Linux was invented to take over the world is completely unhinged.

    This woman does not represent 99.9% of republicans, I assure you. Most people don't care what operating system you use.

    I did find this interesting and humerous. I'd have to say that this is the first article I've read like this. usually someone is calling Microsoft evil.

    How refreshing!

    How about this: there's more than one way to do something. Wow, what a complicated thought!

    If someone is comfortable spending $250.00 for their operating system, then an additional $40.00/year for an antivirus subscription, I say, more power to 'em.

    Since pirating is highly illegal, unethical, etc, why not use something you can afford, I say?

    Also, I prefer to be on the cutting edge of things, not trapped in five-year-old technology. Just my humble opinion.

  • wow, loads of posts (for me anyway).

    I'm certainly not agreeing with the article I linked to, hope that was clear from my comments.

    I'm a computer scientist by training so was pointing out how riddled with fundamental mistakes and misconceptions the article was. Also that I can't (or rather would like not to) believe that it can be genuine as to actually have those beliefs is a little scary.
